Description
HBS Fasteners manufactures premium Spring Washers, the most common anti-vibration solution used in mechanical engineering. Known as “Split Lock Washers,” these components are cut and bent into a helical shape. When tightened, the washer flattens, creating a continuous spring tension (preload) that keeps the assembly tight. Additionally, the sharp split ends “bite” into the nut and the workpiece, providing mechanical resistance against counter-clockwise rotation. This dual-action locking mechanism is essential for maintaining the integrity of joints in moving machinery.
Technical Specifications
-
Standard: Manufactured in accordance with DIN 127 Type B (Square End) and DIN 127 Type A (Curved/Chisel End).
-
Design Feature: Helical split design that provides high reactive force when compressed.
-
Locking Mechanism: Combined spring tension and mechanical friction to resist loosening.
-
Size Range: Available in metric sizes from M2 to M48.
-
Compatibility: Ideal for use with Hex bolts, nuts, and Socket Head Cap Screws in all industrial grades.
Material & Quality Excellence
-
Stainless Steel: Available in A2 (304) and A4 (316) for rust-proof performance in food-grade and marine environments.
-
Other Materials: Produced in High-Tensile Spring Steel (65Mn / 70Si7) for maximum elasticity and “memory.”
-
In-House Control: Utilizing raw materials from our own facility, we perform controlled heat treatment to ensure the washer does not become brittle or lose its “spring” after the first use. Every washer is tested for its “free height” after compression to guarantee long-term performance.
-
Surface Finishing: Options include Mechanical Zinc Plating, Black Oxide, Hot Dip Galvanized (HDG), and Yellow Passivation.
Key Application Areas
-
Engine & Transmission: Securing components in vehicles and heavy machinery where constant vibration and heat cycles are present.
-
Electrical Motors: Used to prevent the loosening of mounting bolts and internal terminal connections.
-
Structural Steelwork: Essential in construction and bridge-building where dynamic loads and wind vibration occur.
-
Pumps & Compressors: Ideal for high-speed rotating equipment where traditional plain washers would fail to maintain tension.
