Wave Washers

HBS Fasteners manufactures premium Wave Washers, specifically designed for applications where space is limited and only a light-to-medium spring force is required. Unlike standard coil springs, a Wave Washer occupies a very small axial space. The “waves” around the circumference of the washer provide a predictable spring rate; when compressed, they act like a spring to maintain tension between two surfaces. These are essential for taking up “end play” in shafts and are widely used in rotating equipment to reduce noise and vibration.

• Standard: Manufactured in accordance with DIN 137 Type B (3-wave, 4-wave, and multi-wave designs available).

• Design Feature: Multiple curved “waves” provide a uniform 360-degree load distribution.

• Functionality: Compensates for accumulated manufacturing tolerances and thermal expansion in mechanical stacks.

• Size Range: Available in metric sizes from M3 to M100+, fitting standard shafts and bearing bores.

• Performance: Offers a lower spring rate compared to Belleville washers, allowing for more precise, gentle tension.

Material & Quality Excellence

• Stainless Steel: Available in A2 (304) and A4 (316) for use in medical devices and food processing equipment where hygiene is critical.

• Other Materials: Produced in High-Carbon Spring Steel (C67S / 65Mn) and Phosphor Bronze for excellent fatigue resistance.

• In-House Control: Utilizing raw materials from our own facility, we ensure the wave height and thickness are perfectly consistent. Our precision tempering process ensures the washer returns to its original height after compression, maintaining its “spring memory” for millions of cycles.

• Surface Finishing: Options include Zinc Plating, Black Phosphate, and Plain Oiled finish.
