Unlike standoffs, spacers are typically unthreaded (hollow tubes), allowing a bolt or screw to pass through the center. They are designed to absorb compressive loads and prevent components from coming into contact, making them critical for PCB mounting, panel spacing, and protecting sensitive parts from heat or mechanical stress.
